When hair transplants is not possible?

There are various criteria’s based on that hair transplant procedure is been recommended and performed. Not only the donor capacity and the quality of the grafts are important, medical fitness is equally important. There are 7 stages of hair loss condition on men and beyond stage of hair loss condition hair transplant procedure is not possible to perform for the simple reason is the donor capacity doesn’t support to extract 19 to 20 thousand single hair follicles which is required for stage 5 of hair loss condition. We do have around 30000 to 40000 hair follicles on the top of the scalp at the age of around 18, and post that age in cases of androgenetic alopecia we start losing hairs. And in cases of stage 6 and 7 of hair loss condition it is absolutely not possible to do hair transplants because of the non-availability of the donor site and the large area of the cranial area requirements. Anyone who wants to do hair transplant should avail the procedure when they are in stage 2 to stage 4 condition and ideal time to get the procedure done and not in advanced stage of hair loss. Several medical reasons are also contraindications for hair transplants. Clients with high blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, clients on regular blood thinners, cardiac issues, anti-hcv positive, hbsag positive, HIV positive, clients with scalp infections like lichen planus, psoriasis, eczema etc are also contraindications to hair transplants. Every hair transplant cases need medical fitness from a MD physician as local anesthesia and bleeding is involved. Hence the mandatory medical tests included complete blood count of the client with normal values, bleeding time, clotting time, HIV duo elisa process, Hbsag, anti-hcv and a normal value ECG is mandatory. Based on the values the Surgeon decides the eligibility of the procedure for the client. In case any of the values are not normal the Surgeon can decide to drop the case as it will not meet the pre requisites of the procedure guidelines.
