A complete information on pre-operative guidelines of hair transplant

All we should know before we proceed for a hair transplant procedure. Lot of us take it very casually and don’t follow the medical ethics of it and that impacts on the procedure delivery and outcome. Hence following the below instructions are mandatory and all the Max hair clinic Surgeons also recommend the same for optimum results and better surgical delivery.

• 1. Stop smoking 2 days before procedure. Avoid alcohol 24 hours before procedure.
• 2. Eight (8) to ten (10) days before the procedure do not take any aspirin or any medication containing Salicylic Acid, any anticoagulants, any vitamins (especially vitamin E), aloe, ginseng, or any nutritional supplements especially those of high protein concentration.
• 3. If you receive any other medication and after the consultant's suggestion, you will receive a certain MAX medical note for your physician's info and you must get a written consent from him in order to proceed for the scheduled operation.
• 4. STOP applying Minoxidil 5 days before procedure.
• 5. CONTINUE taking anti - hypertensive medication for blood pressure, for diabetes or any other medication prescribed to you. Kindly take it in the morning of the procedure.
• 6. The consulting doctor and the surgeon should he informed of any medication that you might take or have taken, any previous surgeries, any known drug or food allergies so as to avoid any reaction.
• 7. Wash your hair in the morning of the procedure. Ensure 6-8 hours sleep before procedure.
• 8. On the day of procedure have a light breakfast, avoid caffeine, tea, coffee and orange juice.
• 9. Kindly ensure that you arrive on the time slot scheduled for you.
• 10. Do not have your hair cut before the procedure. White hair should get dyed before the procedure.
• 11. Kindly wear a buttoned up shirt on the day of procedure.
• 12. It is recommended that you should not drive a vehicle after the procedure.
• 13. Tests to be done are HIV 1 and 2, Australia Antigen, BT, CT, PT, CBC & Blood Sugar. Sapphire micro FUE session can only be performed if these reports are been approved by the Hair transplant surgeons on value eligibility criteria, before 2 days of commencement time.
• 14. If you are over 45 years old, a cardiologic examination is recommended (ECG Electrocardiogram) that you should submit it prior to the operation.
