Can Dandruff cause Baldness?

BLog Image

Dandruff is one of the most common problems most of us have, causing irritation to the scalp. Excessive dandruff causes hair strand breakage and rough hair. Dandruff, also called Seborrheic Dermatitis, is a fungal infection on the scalp due to the clogging of skin pores due to dirt, which initially leads to bacterial infections and then slowly turns to fungal infections. Keeping the scalp clean and healthy can prevent dandruff from reoccurring. Dandruff usually breaks the strands from the top layer of the scalp. Dandruff doesn’t cause baldness and can only cause hair fall. Baldness occurs due to Androgenetic alopecia issues, which are more of a genetic concern, and in women, hair loss happens due to hormonal imbalance. In cases of androgenetic alopecia, DHT hormones are the main cause of hair loss, and once the hair falls off, it doesn’t regrow, and that’s when we start seeing baldness in men. Generally, it starts at the hairline, which tends to recede, and then a patch appears on the top of the scalp, which gradually increases along with the receding hairline. Baldness is seen in stage 3 of androgenetic alopecia, and in stage 4, we are left with a few strands in the middle of the scalp with 80% of the cranial hair loss. Close casket PRP performed by Max Hair Clinic in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore is a holistic solution for hair loss in terms of saving the existing hairs, and in cases of baldness, IGM and Sapphire hair transplant are the only options to get back hair on the scalp.
